Hadrians Wall Charity event.
4x4RNE have again this year provided management and marshalling for the Hadrians Wall Charity Walks in aid of Muscular Dystrophy.
The event was again a great success and the organiser are happy with our performance, events like these are a great practicle excercise in communications. A social evening was held before the event which saw RNE members Event Organiser having a meal at a local "establishment"
enabling both organisations staff to meet before the event the next day, this may well become a regular format for future events as it worked extremely well!
4x4RNE recently held a training day at Mafden Off Road site.
A major part of this training day was recovery winching, largely due to the nature of this site, plenty of mud!
This was a great opportunity for the less experienced drivers to learn the limitations of both their own ability and their motors capabilities........many thanks to Paul for organising this event and to Phil for his able assistance.
As a bonus, members also got he chance to see some quads being put through their paces and the feedback I have recieved has been quite favourable, thanks also to the quad riders who provided the "display"
I believe Phil "test rode" one of the quads and may be able to provide his views on these machines.
Wessex 4x4 Response Held an induction day for some 12 new members last Sunday 08/03/09 during which the basic background to the organisation and general operating procedures with the emphasis on safety was explained.
