Gloucestershire 4x4 Response.
2 members - Darren Bourne and Alasdair Kirk both achieved their BORDA Higher level training, and were IOPD assessed to that level.
After 2 days spent in training at Whitecliff Off Road Centre, Coleford, putting their vehicles through a wide range of testing and technically difficult exercises off road, they were tested in 1.5 hour assessments to demonstrate theoretical and practical knowledge.
The course covered a wide range of hazards, difficult situations and other challenges, from wading through water, to safely dealing with a stalled vehicle stopped on a slippery clay uphill bank. The course stretched the ability and knowledge of the drivers, and gave them a great deal of understanding of what their vehicles are capable of managing.
They were driving a Land-Rover 110 and a Classic Range Rover.
