Default Hi from West Yorkshire

Hi,

I'm from Calderdale in west Yorkshire, though I'm now based in wakefield (south of Leeds). I've been to the Nov&Dec meetings of the local branch of Yorks&Lincs 4x4, so hello to the guys there and I've recently sent off my application form to join.

I found out about the organisation whilst reading a news snippet in Landrover Owner mag and thought I'd pop into the local meet as it was the next evening and seemed like a worthwhile thing to get involved in.

I am lacking a fairly essential bit of kit however as I have no 4x4 lol. But never mind I hope I can still add some sort of value to the organisation.

For my day job I'm an Infrastructure Support Officer for a Cat1 organisation, a job I've recently moved across to after ten years in a front line forensic role, though we're going through a wide ranging reorganisation at the moment so this may change again soon. My second job is IT, business process, project and standards consultation work.

Hi to all and Merry Christmas.

Welcome to the forum Robin, it's often overlooked that teams have other requirements than a 4x4 and driver! There are many roles within a team that do not require a driver let alone a 4x4, areas which are often crutial, where other skills can be employed to good use. I'm sure you're local team will be more than happy to accept you in some capacity.
