From Norfolk & Suffolk 4x4 Response
Quote:
We recently provided 8 vehicles for the annual EACH event in Thetford forest, as we do every year.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices held their annual charity walk, jog & cycle ride in Thetford forest.
This involved cycle rides off road on a waymarked 10 or 25 mile circuit through the forest, or a 35 mile marshalled road circuit taking in quiet country lanes, or a shorter road route of 19 miles. Alternatively there was a 3 or 9 mile walk or jog through the forest.
Our role was to provide support vehicles on the road loop as well as in the forest, working with marshals and staff, at fixed points, all in radio contact. As is usual, several vehicles remained at the Santon Downham base to provide rapid response to any sort of emergency.
We also provide logistics and staff for water stations, transport for marshals, security on forest gates, and clear the courses at the end.
Incidents were only minor, but included injuries from falls, recovery of exhausted riders, and a lost child search.
This is the biggest fundraising event held by EACH, and this year saw over 1200 entrants.

Well done all.
