Hi all,
Just adding a note here to say hello. I joined the Herts 4x4 response group at the end of last year, and found myself driving about in the snow during Jan/Feb this year - helping make sure that vulnerable elderly people still got their hot meals delivered by the community service despite barely passable road conditions.
I drive an old Hilux Surf, which over the last few years has proven itself to be more that a match for some quite ridiculous driving conditions, and also has been a fun toy to have properly off road - having done a number of green lane expeditions with the Hertfordshire 4x4 Off Road club.
Have also been experimenting with running the vehicle on Bio Diesel, which has worked well. The truck runs smoothly on the stuff, and its nice to know its only outputting recycled CO2 and very little else.
As I write this, I am in the middle of Wales with the worst storm in quite a few years rolling in from the West. Its comforting to know that I am equipped with transport which will get me and the family home no matter what the weather throws at us over the next couple of days.
Cheers,
Sean.
