I found a link to here on Landrover net and thought I'll have a look see. I have not singed up yet but like the idea of helping out and did so on a lot of occasions in the past, I am a EFR and diving instructor, was a life boat skipper, rescue diver and fireman at sea in the past. At the moment I drive a 1995 300tdi Discovery and have had Landrover's in one shape or another over 25 years.

Welcome to the forum Michael,
I was about to suggest you upgrade your profile but see you are doing so as I type! So I'm thinking you've not had a change to peruse the information here yet, you should be able to find a team local to you and possibly even a few depending on location. It is good to know that external links do produce results every now and then and which ones. You obviously have some considerable experience in a number of areas which would presumably be beneficial to what ever team you may be interested in joining.
Nigel.

Hi Michael
Welcome to 4x4 Response
In your area is Essex 4x4 Response, who have just changed their name from Thames Gateway 4x4 Response as they are starting to expand away from their original area to cover more of the County.
They have just set up a website www.thamesgateway4x4.co.uk (http://www.thamesgateway4x4.co.uk) which isn't yet listed on our group register and there's not much there yet other than contact details (yes it's that new)! Contact there is Paul (http://www.4x4response.info/enquiries@thamesgateway4x4.co.uk)
They meet on the First Tuesday of the month at the Fox & Hounds (http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=571780&y=194930&z=120&sv=571780,194930&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=562&ax=571780&ay=194930&lm=0), Ramsden Heath near Wickford.
A bit of a hike from Brightlingsea so you might want to consider Essex Rover Rescue, although I couldn't possibly recommend them as they are not members of the network (that's a joke by the way)! ;)
But seriously they are run by the Essex Land Rover Club (http://http://www.elrc.info/info/rover_rescue.html) and the contact there is Kevin (http://www.4x4response.info/essexroverrescue@aol.com) I believe they are based largely within Tendring District.
Hope that is of help
Tony

Now you know what the National Secretary does...
Or rather not what I do but what I know :D
And yes I just happened to on my lunch break so had some time to spare.
As opposed to now when I'm just having a quick break from the mind numbing task of revising our Major Incident Plan page by page to reflect the fact that my team of two has just become a team of one (yes just me)! Up to page 28, only another 46 to go
As you may have noticed I'm the habit of popping on here every couple of hours.... it helps to keep me sane :D
